TOUR THE SLUMS WITH CODEN FOUNDATION

We offer a 4-hour tour through some major Slums of Kampala. Your Protection and Guidance will be ensured throughout the tour by a team of experienced youth, born, raised and staying within these areas. We look forward to giving you all the details, facts and FUN insights about the slums!
We hope that this experience will encourage you to support and be a part of the development of these communities found in some of the poorest areas of Uganda”

Please note that: 40% of the proceeds charged for this tour are donated to CODEN Foundation.

Our Slum Road Map
Slum target areas include: Bwaise, Nabweru Katooke, Wandegeya Katanga, Kalerwe and Makerere Kivulu. Bwaise Slums, our target spot is the most deprived slum area in Kampala (capital city of Uganda) estimated to be housing over 300,000 people with a lot of marginalized youth and women. Over 3,000 girls and women between 14 and 40 years are engaged in petty sexual commerce (according to research by UYDEL, 2011). Bwaise slums inhabitants are synonymous with high unemployment, school drop outs, malnutrition, in addition to about 300 children living with HIV/AIDS especially due to exposure to sex trade activities.

At the Slum tour, Expect:
·   A visit to CODEN Foundation offices
·   Background biography of the visited slum
·   A tour to President Idi Amin’s former house in Bwaise and any other historical places in these areas
